The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (MOCA): Neighborhood Public Radio’s participation in Engagement Party

The Museum of Contemporary Art is pleased to announce the artist-run radio project Neighborhood Public Radio (NPR) as the spring 2011 participants in Engagement Party, MOCA’s program presenting new works by innovative Southern California–based artist collectives. Harnessing the airwaves, NPR will create three interactive sound projects for MOCA visitors to experience on the first Thursday evenings of April, May, and June 2011. All events are FREE to the public and no reservations are required. For further information, visit moca.org/party.

The Hungarian Multicultural Center, Inc.® (HMC), 501(c)(3), Dallas, TX/Budapest, Hungary based non-profit organization. The HMC dedicated to inspiring, connecting, exhibiting, and promoting artists. The HMC invites interested visual artists, writers, performers to submit application for its residency program in Budapest, Hungary. The residencies offer participants to interact with other artists representing a variety of cultures and backgrounds. <br />
<br />
Artists will give at least one informal public slide/powerpoint/DVD/CD presentation (45 minutes) about their work during their stay at the HMC and leave one exhibition ready art work made during the residency as a donation to the HMC. Exhibitions, workshops and lectures will be arranged in Budapest.<br />
<br />
While HMC does not provide funding for residencies, we are helping to facilitate the creation of program, the cost of the exhibitions and cover %40 of total cost, artists cover %60. We encourage the applicants to apply for a grant or scholarship.<br />

In an installation of embroideries, watercolors and a text-based wall drawing, Johnson revisits a poignant moment in the history of late nineteenth-century Hudson County, New Jersey, where long-forgotten insane asylums and penitentiaries once existed amidst violence and political corruption.<br />
