Tania Bruguera’s Immigrant Movement International, presented by Creative Time and the Queens Museum of Art, is a long-term art project in the form of an artist-initiated socio-political movement. Bruguera will spend a year operating a flexible community storefront space in the multinational and transnational neighborhood of Corona, Queens, which will serve as the movement’s headquarters.

Bettina Pousttchi (b. 1971) has recently received due attention for her large-scale, site-specific photographic work Echo (2009/10). The project involved covering all four elevations of the Temporäre Kunsthalle Berlin with a digitally manipulated collage of archival images of the glass skin and concrete pilasters of the former Palace of the Republic.

EAST by SOUTH WEST, the title of curated by_vienna 2011, describes a geographical conundrum—a where?—to be solved using the compass of contemporary art. The Architectures/Dessins/Utopies exhibition presents drawings (collages, drawn interventions) pertaining to architecture by visual artists and drawings by architects that go beyond architecture stricto sensu. It will be on display at the National Museum of Contemporary Art Bucharest from January to April 2011 and relies on a selection of works, rarely or never shown before, from the prestigious French state collection, the Fonds National d’Art Contemporain/Centre National des Arts Plastiques.
