Kunsthalle Düsseldorf
20 March – 24 May 2010
Kunsthalle Düsseldorf is presenting the first comprehensive solo exhibition by Matts Leiderstam (born 1956 in Gothenburg). The Swedish installation artist is interested in the portrait and landscape painting of the 18th and 19th centuries. After intensive art and cultural history research, Leiderstam takes paintings and graphic art out of their original collection and presentation contexts to position them anew within institutional exhibitions.
